Last year I was commissioned by the Museum of London to produce a series of illustrations as a visual identity for a new exhibition to coincide with the Olympics called ‘Our Londinium 2012′. They asked me to adapt my doodle style to incorporate modern day and roman objects to build a larger final image. The objects that would make up the final image were all chosen by the museum’s youth panel ‘Junction’. The same panel that chose the doodle style for the exhibition! (Cheers guys!). From the very start the nickname ‘The Doodlist’ was given to me, think it might catch on!
The illustrations will be used for the marketing and internal displays of the exhibition which runs from 22 June 2012 until 2014. I thoroughly enjoyed working on this project and meeting the panel that have helped organise it all. Can’t wait to see it all come together!
More info: “The Museum of London is working with young people and artists over two years to create bold and imaginative installations in its popular Roman Gallery and other key spaces in 2012.The project will feature new sculptures, creative films, animations and sound, witty and thought-provoking insertions of contemporary objects, drama performances, Latin-inspired poetry slamming and other exciting events…”

Over at http://www.doodlersanonymous.com/ they offer a blank t-shirt for avid doodlers to fill with their own thoughts and ideas… and simply their doodles. I thought it was a cracking idea to try out seeing what my illustrations would look like on a white t-shirt so gave it a go. The finished shirt is pictured below… I kinda cocked up the display of my name but the rest should make up for that error! This was all done straight onto the shirt with pen.
Here are a couple of detailed shots of my large illustration from the exhibition. They are fairly large file sizes and Ive compressed them to the max but hey ho! Enjoy and tell me what you think!
After countless hours I reached a point I was happy to hand in my illustration for my final piece for uni. I still would like to complete it properly and add more detail for the whole thing but it’s pretty much there! Photos and a time-lapse are below:
This is a time lapse of a 4ft x 4ft illustration I did for a university project called ‘Imaginary Worlds’. It took me countless hours to finish and still needs more work but here is the progress so far!
This is part of a huge bad ass drawing I’m doing for uni. My back aches & I have blisters and around 15 hours left on it until its finished. Named after the song from the Lion King soundtrack which Im listening to as I draw…
These are a few photos of a piece I created today to go in my year 3 uni exhibition. Unfortunately I was late in submitting it on time and therefore it won’t be displayed. It will however be available at the private view in a silent auction! I will be creating more of these in a set for my project and hope to finish an A1 version.

On my way to Exeter today to go see the Mansons Guitar Show I was able to spend the few hour journey doing a continuous doodle. I haven’t done one of these for a while so it was nice to get back into the style…
