Imaginary Worlds Update:
I’m also currently working on an interactive way of display my large Imaginary Worlds piece which will allow you to explore the artwork up close and personal online!
Covered Records website:
I was asked to quickly design and build a website for a new venture from Pulled Apart by Horses called ‘Covered Records’. Which is basically the idea that two bands record each others tracks in their own style. Great idea, and the first involved PABH with Blood Red Shoes. The basic website was designed and built in a few hours and includes a mobile version.
Last night at the IPA, a film I created the titles and graphics for (on behalf of MC) in collaboration with The Ideas Foundation was released into the wild. The goal of the film was to shine a light on the state of diversity currently present in UK advertising, while starting a discussion into the ways in which we might be able to improve it.
Attendants ranged from Robin Wight (President of Engine), Jonathan Akwue (Engine Partner), John Hegarty (Founder BBH), Trevor Beattie (Founder BMB), Magnus Djaba (CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi) and many more. The showing of the film was followed by a discussion on the subject of diversity in advertising and ranged from discussing the problems with unpaid internships and problems with class priority in jobs.
Good question, not much bar trying to create new pieces as part of the ‘imaginary worlds’ saga. Great word that, saga…
Anywho, I have also been learning new software and skills in the way of video and live action editing. (Been doing lots of video visuals as of late). This basically means controlling and adding effects to live video as it happens. I have been mainly using Max6 and After Effects to achieve some cools effects (even created my own guitar delay pedal in the process!). Some screenshots of the mad stuff I’ve come up with can be seen below, not sure how this will feed into my work, but we will see…
The video of my uni project from last year has finally been finished. This was made as part of the Pulled Apart by Horses Box Set I created which had the idea of a music box set within a prebuilt guitar – the only way of reaching it, by smashing it. The final video can be viewed below:
With the recent release of Tron I have been listening to the Daft Punk soundtrack and its been rather epic. Hoping to see it in all it’s glory in the IMAX. Got inspired to do my own logo for it. It is a custom made lettering, still needs a bit of work, but for some fun I thought it was alright…
I said I wasn’t happy with the previous post, and that’s cause it was proper shit. Really rushed and no thought. I was determined to do it justice as it’s one of my favourite films and I admire Kubrick greatly. Quite chuffed with the outcome.
After recently watching Kubricks fantastic ’2001: Space Odyssey’ I felt the urge to do something creative using the TMA-1 Monolith and bits of the story…
